Abstract:
The Cocoyl chloride was synthesized by phosgene and coconut acid under the conditions of catalyst-free, high temperature and activated carbon decolorization. The effects of reaction temperature, active carbon content and photo-gas velocity on the component content, yield and color of Cocoyl chloride were investigated. The results showed that when the reaction temperature was 120 ℃, the mass ratio of activated carbon/coconut acid was 1.5%, and the phosgene gas velocity was 0.8L/min, the yield of Cocoyl chloride was 96%, and the APHA color was 130.

Coconut oil acid chlorides - Introduction
Acid chlorides, also known as acid chlorides, are a class of organic compounds. They have the following general properties:
Nature:
-Acid chloride is usually a colorless liquid with a pungent odor.
-They are anhydrous, but can react with water to generate the corresponding acid.
-Acid chlorides are highly reactive and react easily with many compounds.
Use:
-Acid chloride is an important raw material for the synthesis of other organic compounds and is widely used in the fields of pharmaceuticals, dyes, pesticides and coatings.
-They can be used to prepare acid chloride derivatives, such as acid chloride esters, amides and acid chloride ethers.
Method:
-Acid chlorides are usually prepared by reacting the corresponding acid with thionyl chloride (SOCl2) or phosphorus chloride (PCl5).
Safety Information:
-Acid chloride is a kind of toxic substance, which is irritating and corrosive. Please be careful to avoid direct contact.
-When using acid chlorides, please take care to follow proper laboratory procedures and personal protective measures, such as wearing protective glasses and gloves.
-Acid chloride is usually operated under closed ventilation conditions to prevent its vapor from causing harm to the human body.
-When handling and storing acid chlorides, please follow the safe operating procedures of related chemicals to ensure safety.
